Freeride Ski Course
Take advantage of the recent snow !!!!
The Freeride Course is focused on alpine skiing and mountain skiers who want to learn or improve their technique in the off-piste descent or large slopes of virgin snow.
Improve your off-piste skiing technique to move safely and confidently in ski touring. Next course on January 2 and 3, taking advantage of the snow week that is coming. Check other dates.
The course day is usually developed at the ski resort in the area that at the time of coming, have better snow conditions, Panticosa, Formigal, Piau Engaly….
In descent we will develop all existing techniques. We will correct the mistakes made by each of you that do not allow you to apply the technique well. Before starting with the practical part, we would stay in a cafeteria in the area to show you a small powerpoint to prevent avalanches and draw suitable lines in descent. This would take us 30 min. Then we would go on to conduct a search for victims of avalanche with the ARVA, the PALA and the PROBE and then start skiing.
COURSE DEVELOPMENT.
Virgin snow requires the application of specific downward turning techniques. The powder snow, the crust, the icy snow and the spring snow, pose to the skier a specific transition in each movement to get to enjoy a pleasant descent, with self control over all the elements that are involved in this activity.
OBJECTIVE
For all those skiers who have a good level of descent in treated snow and who wish to make a qualitative leap in the development of the descent technique to be able to address those variable snow conditions existing in the “off-piste” of ski resorts or in mountain skiing. We will learn to descend through high mountain terrain. The avalanches and the different slopes of the mountain, keep secrets that we must try to know and understand to safely practice this exciting sport.
CONTENTS
Improvement of descent techniques applied to the environment. Specific "freeride" techniques; driven turn, flexion-extension turn, use of the stick, jump turn, curve phases ...
Planning of the descents in mountain.
Identification and cataloging of objective hazards.
Specific equipment and material: handling, maintenance and repair.
We will deepen knowledge of the environment and risk prevention; action in case of avalanche.
Reading of the terrain of descent and fractioned methods.
Advanced Nivology: the metamorphosis of the elements.
Self-arrest techniques with skis.
All those techniques for descent of moderate and strong slopes.
Take advantage of the new snowfall!!! Mountain ski course, crossing in the Pyrenees. Next mountain ski course for January 2 and 3. Don't forget that if you want a longer course

Mountain skiing course, crossing in the Pyrenees.
Next mountain ski course for January 2 and 3. Don't forget that if you want a longer course that evolves towards a higher degree... we have more days.
El introductory mountain ski course It is ideal to enter the world of ski touring. This discipline brings together two of the most attractive modalities for mountain lovers, Mountaineering and Skiing. The descent and the progression through virgin snow with skis will make us enjoy the mountain in a different way. The ski slopes can sometimes be monotonous and their cost is increasing more and more. While the mountain will offer us the possibility of sliding freely through it. At the same time we will perform an exercise that is completely healthy.
The objectives of the Mountain Skiing Course or Initiation Crossing are:
Plan and carry out activities on cross-country skis of up to half difficulty with the maximum possible autonomy.
Learn the basic techniques of ascent with skis.
Be able to distinguish, avoid and manage inherent dangers to the activity itself.
Learn to progress safely with crampons and ice ax, basic self-arrest technique.
Learn and / or improve the technique of descent in snows of each participant.
You must bear in mind that you must have a good level of skiing on the piste for a good use of this course. Therefore, as the course takes place in virgin snow (snow without stepping on or any trace of ski), it is necessary to descend correctly on red slopes.
For a good development and enjoyment of the course, we should inform you that for those who need to improve the level of descent in all types of snow, we also recommend doing our Free-ride Course, a technique of descent in virgin snow. FREE-RIDE COURSE, OUT TRACKS
