Valley of Otal
We will start this route in San Nicolás de Bujaruelo, a place with a lot of history both in the civil war, as in the Middle Ages or by the treaties between ranchers of our valley and those of Gavarnie, and where we will find a refuge with a Romanesque bridge and the remains of the Romanesque hermitage, where our guides they will entertain themselves to explain the curiosities of the place.
From there we will ascend to the Otal Valley, a small glacial bucket that when arriving at its entrance we will find a plain of about 4km long, of grass with a serpentine river surrounded by mountains that go from 2300 to 2800mts. A paradise of flowers in spring where we can enjoy varieties of Orchids, buttercups, Iris or even some Edelweis, and also the nice marmots. On the way back, we will follow the channel of river Ara by footpath between pastures of grass and box trees and where depending on the time we can see copies of Lilium Martagon and even Lilium Pirenaicum, until arriving at San Nicolás de Bujaruelo.
