Rafting on the Ara River
Enjoy one of the best rafting in Spain. Rafting on the Ara River is part of one of the most spectacular places in the Pyrenees. Our company is located in the town of Torla, a municipality from where this wonderful activity begins. The section to be covered is between the towns of Torla and Broto, 6 km with a great difference in level. Where we will find spectacular canyon areas that cause an exciting speed of water.
The Ara is the last virgin river of the Aragonese Pyrenees. Since its birth in the Vignemale border massif until its end in Aínsa it has no prey. Navigating the Ara has a special flavor. It is about the river that surprises us every day. A river that must not be missed and that its descent must be taken care of, changing from one year to the next. The flow rate always varies. Its landscape, natural and sporting value is maximum.
It is in the first week of May when it breaks in the heat of spring, the thaw arrives and the flows are greater. May and June are the months of greatest fluvial activity. We will start the rafting at 1.100 meters high (Badina del Molino) to the Glera de Oto, at 780 meters. It is a 360-meter drop in a 6.000-meter long route.
In the case of excess flow, for security reasons, the section to be carried out is Broto a Fiscal; they are 12 km of route of strong rapids and trains of giant waves.
