THE IBONS OF THE BATANES. Hiking with 4×4 support.

We started the summer by proposing an excursion of hiking with 4 × 4 support. Los Ibones de los batanes, in the Bujaruelo valley.

Hiking with the support of a 4×4 is an activity that allows us to approach higher or farther areas than we can normally reach with our cars. In this way we save part of the route. It allows us to reach more distant areas. and we find more solitary and exclusive places.

The Bujaruelo Valley is a jewel in the peripheral part of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. It is the entrance to the area of ​​the Ordesa and Vignemale Biosphere Reserve.

On this route, we will take the 4×4 in Torla, at our central office. From here we will enter the Bujaruelo Valley until we reach San Nicolás de Bujaruelo. From there we will continue along a track restricted to traffic until we reach Cabaña de Ordiso, at 1600mts. From this point we will start the route on foot. The trail runs along the side of the Ara River, crossing pastures and going up the entire valley. Marmots, arminians, chamois and even the reintroduced Hispanic Goat will accompany us. We will arrive at the foot of the Vignemale, the highest mountain in the French Pyrenees, and from here we will continue to “2 rios”. this is the place where the Ara river is born. After a break, we will go up a little more to access the 2 Ibones de los Batanes. These are located at 2300mts, in a tremendously lonely place where we can rest and soak.

Full day excursion. 50 minutes in 4×4, about 7/8 hours of hiking and 50 minutes back in 4×4. Cumulative elevation gain of 750mts.
