Event Details

Ice climbing course.

The ice climbing course is intended for those climbers who want to learn and improve their techniques of progression in icy terrain.

Thanks to the latest rainfall received these days and above all, the drop in temperatures this week, we are going to have good conditions for practicing ice! In other words, do you feel like crushing ice?

Next January 25 and 26 we will carry out an ice climbing course where you will learn and practice this spectacular discipline in a fascinating environment. During the course we will deal with a series of objectives that will allow you to enjoy this mountain activity safely.

During the ice climbing course we will transmit the necessary techniques to enjoy this discipline. In addition, you will learn to climb waterfalls as the first rope. We'll teach you how to assess the state of the ice and how to progress by placing bolts in the right places. We will develop a theoretical class on all the material, pages of meteorology, nivology and conditions. In the same way, we will teach you to program your climbs and approaches to them. We will develop the necessary double rope progression techniques, in addition to the ice ax and crampon technique. We will carry out workshops on gestures, distribution of balances and how to position ourselves, managing risk and evaluating the state of the ice at each ice ax stroke.
