Rafting Ara River

In spring, being able to find the Ara River Rafting in sailing conditions is a spectacle that you should not miss. Our company is located in the town of Torla-Ordesa, the municipality from where this wonderful activity of rafting on the Ara River begins. The section to be covered is located between the towns of Torla-Ordesa and Broto. We travel 6 kilometers with a remarkable difference in altitude of 140 meters. The crystal clear waters that come from the melting of the high peaks will accompany us through spectacular canyon areas that cause an exciting speed of water.

Rafting on the Ara River

The Ara is the last virgin river of the Aragonese PyreneesFrom its source in the Vignemale border massif to its end in L`Aínsa it has no dam. Navigating the Ara has a special flavor. It is about the river that surprises us every day. A river that must not be missed and that its descent must be taken care of, changing from one year to the next. The flow rate always varies. Its landscape, natural and sporting value is maximum.

It is in the first week of May when it breaks in the heat of spring, the thaw arrives and the flows are greater. May and June are the months of greatest fluvial activity. We will start the rafting at 1.050 meters high (Badina del Molino) to the Glera de Oto, at 880 meters. It is a 100-meter drop in a 6.000-meter long route.

It is a river that usually varies its bed but is very noble. In the case of extreme cold, cutting the flow may mean canceling the descent, although you will always have the possibility of changing to esera o Galician. A lot of snowmelt combined with heavy rains can lead to excess flow. In case of excess, the section to be carried out is from Broto to Fiscal; It is a 12 km route of strong rapids and wave trains typical of large rivers.

You can check the hydrological forecasts in real time to know the evolution of the flow.
