Ascent to the Gap of Roland from San Nicolás de Bujaruelo
La Roland gap 2807mts is located right on the border of National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido and Pyrenees National Park (France).
La Roland gap It is one of the most beautiful and impressive ascents of the Mazizo del Monte Perdido and it is also the natural way to cross from Spain to France or from Ordesa Valley a Gabarnie.
This place full of stories, legends and energy, together with the beautiful views on both sides of this cross-border gate of the Pyrenees, makes this guided climb a long and essential day of mountain.
This is the classic route for this ascent, passing through the Port of Bujaruelo, under the Taillon Glacier, the shelter of Serradets, watching the Circus of Gabarnie and the back of all 3000s by Ordesa, to finally cross the Roland gap.
The descent can be done by the same way or by descending through the Spanish part going down the Circus of Carriata and going through their Pegs, can also enjoy good views on the Valley of Ordesa, coming to the Meadow of Ordesa.
